Steal The Splurge: Prints/Maxi

Picked up this maxi dress for my Sis at the Melrose Trading Post, thinking of all the printed and colorful trends for Spring like these pictured from Suno and Chris Benz. Buy it now from Revolve or Target; my MAJOR fav is the Indah Fahna version. Love, love, love.

Steal The Splurge: Brights

Did some flea market shopping in LA this past weekend which inspired me to write up what designer's Spring collection inspired my purchases and where anyone can purchase something similar within the trend for teeny moolah.
I'm starting with this orange, linen shift dress because it reminded me of alllll the amazing things I loved from Jil Sander this season. When I bought it ($15), it had enormous shoulder pads and an insane looking chain belt thing; so, so awful. I took scissors to it to remove the offending items, and now I have a dress I love. I paired it here with a random belt from JCrew, but it looks great with no accessories at all. Mostly, I'm planning to wear it with leopard bags and shoes!

To steal the brights trend for yourself, I adore the BCBG colorblock dress the most (center), and for daytime, the strapless tonal polka-dot version from Lulu's or the striped mini available at Outnet are my favs. Wouldn't they look killer with high wedges or vintage flats?

Salvation Army Steals!

Went spontaneous shopping today for 30 minutes at the Salvation Army on Harry Hines; just seemed like a good idea as I drove by. Technically, I prefer the Goodwill store over by the Fiesta for thrift shopping, but I wasn't nearby that one today. PS: Sorry for the heinous pic; I will post more of the items being worn later. In the meantime, for $20.51 I got the following:

  • Vintage LL. Bean candy pink sweatshirt. It has the perfect, boxy, just short enough fit. I will wear this constantly, I'm sure. Love it with Earnest Sewn jeans and vintagey boots or loafers.
  • DKNY cashmere sweater. Cowl neck, long, and oversized with raglan sleeves. So cute with my high booties.
  • Ancient (as in it has the original, old-school label they used to use) Banana Republic olive shorts. Cuffed with sweaters and boots for my trip to LA, and allllll the time in the spring with other "boyfriend" type pieces.
  • Maus & Hoffman striped tee. This is from the house label of a Worth Avenue store in Palm Beach that sells ridiculously expensive causal clothes; the tee is camel and white teeny tiny striped in cotton jersey. It's short, flowy fit is awesome. Cost $2.99; originally, it would've been about $90, lol.
  • Ralph Lauren linen shirt in a floral print. Obsessed. It's baby yellow and pink; fits perfectly. Will rock it with white jeans asap, by which I mean after Easter.
  • Vintage linen tank with lace trim. It's super short; so, it'll be a layering piece. So gorgeous and feminine.
Go immediately; 5554 Harry Hines. They have tons of good cashmere in perfect condition from Neimans, White and Warren, etc. Also, it's a good time to buy cool shorts, skirts, worn denim, and summer stuff that's just sitting there. There's a floral Ralph Lauren purple label dress there now that is RIDICULOUS. If it hadn't been a 12 and impossible to alter accordingly, it would've been mine.

Shopbop Sale

So love the olive Sam Edelman flats and all the striped pieces. There are - for once - lots of sizes left in most of these items. But be warned, the sales are final. Loving all the classic Americana stuff right now:) Go to Shopbop to get any of the above and more.

Ralph Lauren Goodness at ShopGoodwill.com

I'm still in Palm Beach; so, maybe that explains my attraction to this plaid awesomeness. Though, admittedly, I usually love it anyway. These plaid bags are everywhere in PB, and if you're carrying a vintage one, even better. Especially since the new versions from Ralph Lauren's current collections go for around $400 to $500. I bought my version for $8 in Canton, and it is my most complimented bag, lol. Anyway, the auction the plaid bag ends tomorrow; so bid now at Shopgoodwill. The sweater has 5 days left. Oh, and there's this too . . .
The cognac leather bag ends in 6 days. The gold stirrup detail is so adorable, btw.
